Solo & Ensemble Accompaniment Tapes |
Hundreds of Titles, All Major Publishers |
Introduction |
Grits Enterprises offers a line of accompaniment tapes and/or CD's designed for preparation for solo & ensemble competition, the actual accompaniment at solo & ensemble competition, recitals or any other occasion where an accompanist is needed. |
Given the option, most directors and students would choose to have accompaniment for their solo to make solo & ensemble competition a more musical experience. As we all know however, this option isn't always available: often there are not enough available accompanists or not enough rehearsal time with the accompanist; there may not be enough pianos at the festival site and the pianos may be in disrepair and out of tune. |
With the tapes presented by Grits Enterprises a student needs only a quality portable stereo tape machine - or CD player -(most of them already have one or the band/choir can provide them - they are inexpensive) and he has at his disposal all the above: an in tune piano and an accompanist who is ready to rehearse at any time. |
Royalties are paid by Grits Enterprises to the Harry Fox Agency. |
About the Tapes |
On side A of the tapes you will hear the solo & the accompaniment. This is intended as a rhythmic guide only, to let the student hear how the solo part fits with the accompaniment. The student is encouraged to use their own interpretation regarding phrasing, dynamics, etc. On side B of the tape you will hear: 4 B Flat concert tuning notes and 4 B Flat concert chords for comparison tuning A snare drum hit which indicaters the point at which to start the tape for the performance The accompaniment - if the solo & accompaniment start together there will be a stick-click count in. If there is a piano introduction, there will be no count in, just the intro. followed by the accompaniment. On the CD's the tuning notes, solo w/accompaniment, and accompaniment w/o solo (performance) will be on seperate tracks. Simply choose the one you need. |
How to Order |
In order to make sure we're talking about the same piece of music, we need the solo instrument, title, composer, arranger and publisher. In all likelihood, the title you need is in stock. We have a huge inventory of the most popular titles from all major publishers. If the title you need is not in stock, we'll record it for you at no extra charge (given enough lead time). For this reason, you might want to include a copy of the music to avoid delays. The tapes are $10.00 each (+$2 per tape/CD shipping). |
